Our Foundation of Faith

In February 2005, Dr. Jan Bentley and her husband Myles embarked on a mission to create a supportive and transformative environment for those seeking guidance and healing. They founded Centennial Park Counseling, PLC, with the vision of providing distinctly Christian counseling services that are thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals, families, and organizations in Grand Rapids and its surrounding communities. From the very beginning, the foundation of Centennial Park Counseling has been built on a steadfast commitment to professionalism, integrity, and compassion. These core values continue to guide our practice and shape the experiences of those who seek our help.

At Centennial Park Counseling, we are proud to offer a unique blend of faith-based counseling services, delivered by a diverse and experienced team of Christian counselors. Each member of our dedicated staff shares a God-centered worldview, which informs their approach to therapy and counseling. We understand that individuals of all ages may face challenges that impact their mental health and relationships, and we are here to provide the support and hope they need for restoration of healthier relationships with others, themselves, and God.

Following Our Calling to Serve

Our mission is centered on restoring hope and healing in relationships, and we achieve this through a variety of specialized offerings. These include comprehensive addiction and trauma recovery care, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, individual therapy tailored to personal needs, and group therapy that fosters community and shared healing. We recognize the importance of accessibility, which is why we emphasize convenient appointment scheduling to accommodate the busy lives of our clients.

In all aspects of our practice, we are committed to integrating Christ-centered principles. We prioritize values such as respect, compassion, integrity, excellence, knowledge, innovation, and teamwork. These values not only guide our interactions with clients but also shape the collaborative environment within our team, ensuring that we work together effectively to provide the best possible care.
