Erin C. Williams is a highly qualified licensed clinical counselor with a comprehensive educational foundation that underpins her professional practice. She earned her Master of Arts in Practical Theology from Oral Roberts University, a respected institution located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she developed a strong understanding of the intersection between faith and mental health. Following this, she pursued a Master of Arts in Counseling with a specialized focus on women’s counseling from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This dual educational background equips her with a unique perspective that integrates spiritual insights with therapeutic techniques, allowing her to address the complex needs of her clients effectively.
Before becoming a valued member of the CPC Team, Williams gained significant experience at Wedgwood Christian Services. In this role, she was instrumental in providing therapeutic support to girls and young women within a residential program, where she developed interventions to meet the specific emotional and psychological needs of her clients. Her professional journey also includes extensive work in home-based and family case management services, where she supported children and adolescents facing various challenges. This experience has honed her skills in navigating family dynamics and fostering healthy relationships.
In addition to her work in residential and home-based settings, Erin has provided both group and individual therapy for students in the Grand Rapids Public and Charter School districts. Her commitment to youth extends to her work with young people at the Kent County Juvenile Detention Center, where she has offered critical support to those in challenging circumstances. This diverse range of experiences has equipped her with a deep understanding of the issues facing adolescents and their families, allowing her to provide compassionate and effective care.
Erin specializes in working with adolescent girls and adult women, focusing particularly on family intervention strategies. Her areas of expertise encompass a variety of critical issues, including self-esteem, the effects of absent fathers, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the repercussions of various forms of abuse—physical, sexual, and psychological. Her empathetic approach and evidence-based practices enable her to help clients navigate their struggles and foster resilience. In addition to her clinical work, Erin is the founder and executive director of Mended Pieces Ministries, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting teenage girls and young women. Through this ministry, she encourages young women to recognize their inherent worth, emphasizing the belief that they are “fearfully and wonderfully” made individuals. Her passion for advocacy and empowerment drives her mission to create a supportive community where young women can thrive, heal, and grow into their full potential.
