Brian is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and with a rich and varied academic background that has equipped him with a unique skill set. He began his educational journey at Taylor University, a well-regarded institution located in Upland, Indiana, where he completed his undergraduate studies in History. This foundational experience not only honed his analytical and critical thinking skills but also instilled in him a deep appreciation for the complexities of human experiences and societal dynamics.

Building on this solid foundation, Brian pursued further education and obtained his first Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. This program provided him with valuable insights into the intricacies of student development, institutional policies, and the importance of fostering supportive educational environments. 

Brian’s academic journey continued as he earned a second Master’s degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. This advanced training equipped him with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to address a wide range of social issues and to provide effective support to individuals and families in need. His education in social work has been instrumental in shaping his approach to therapy and counseling, emphasizing empathy, empowerment, and holistic care.

With over 35 years of professional experience, Brian has cultivated a robust and multifaceted career that spans various fields, including counseling, training, higher education, non-profit management, and financial planning. His diverse background allows him to approach challenges from multiple perspectives, making him a versatile and effective practitioner.

A significant aspect of Brian’s career has been his role as a clinical therapist, which he has embraced for over 30 years. In this capacity, he has dedicated himself to providing compassionate and effective support to individuals, couples, and families facing a myriad of challenges. Our office is in-network with a wide variety of insurances including but not limited to: Aetna, ASR, Physicians Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, Cofinity, Priority Health, Tri-Care, Optum, and United Health.  We are also in-network with many Medicare and Medicaid plans.  Please note: individual therapists may not be in-network with the same insurance carriers as our office.

Where is your office located?

Our office is conveniently located in the Image Building on 28th Street just a short distance off of the I-96 expressway. Take I-96 to the East 28th Street exit; go straight for just a few short blocks to Kraft Avenue, the office is located on the southeast corner of 28th Street and Kraft Avenue.  We are the business building located directly behind the Panera Beard restaurant on the corner of 28th Street and Kraft Avenue.

Cash, Check, Master Card, Visa, and Discover credit and debit cards are accepted. Payment in full is due at time of visit.

Yes, we are in-network for the following insurances:  Aetna, ASR Physicians Care, Cofinity, BCBS, Blue Care Network, Priority Health, McLaren Health Plan, Medicare, TriCare, and United Healthcare/Optum.

We also accept the following three Employee Assistance Programs (EAP):  Charles Nechtem, ComPsych, and Optum.
