Deb is a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Counseling from Cornerstone University. She brings a unique perspective informed by her counseling experience in secure residential programs, juvenile detention, school, and outpatient settings coupled with work experience in corporate, small business, and university settings. Her experience provides valuable insights into the pressures and stressors people encounter during their life span. This allows her to provide a specialized and effective approach to counseling.
Deb provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere where clients feel supported and understood. Her counseling approach is rooted in a Biblical foundation, demonstrating respect and compassion for each client’s unique life story. Deb’s genuine care and understanding make her a sought-after counselor for those seeking a faith-based perspective. While she is happy to incorporate faith into the counseling experience if requested, she tailors her approach to meet the specific needs of every individual where they are on their life journey.
Deb’s theoretical orientation is a blend of Cognitive Therapy, Adaptive Information Processing (AIP), and Client-centered approaches. She uses techniques such as therapeutic play, sand tray, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy), therapeutic art, and several trauma-informed interventions. She believes by combining evidence-based approaches, applied from a Biblical foundation, she can help clients develop healthier coping mechanisms, overcome challenges, and experience lasting transformation.
Deb’s services address a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, life changes, and the unique niche of challenges experienced by individuals and families in ministry. She offers both brief counseling for specific circumstances and longer-term therapy for individuals seeking a deeper exploration of how past experiences impact their present lives. She provides both in-person and telehealth counseling.
