Brigid is a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor who has cultivated a strong foundation in the field of mental health through her academic and professional pursuits. She earned her Master of Arts degree in counseling from Central Michigan University, where she honed her skills and knowledge to effectively support individuals facing various challenges. Her academic journey began at the University of Detroit-Mercy, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in communications, with a particular focus on Spanish. This diverse educational background not only enriches her counseling practice but also allows her to connect with a broader range of clients, including those from different cultural backgrounds.

Currently, Brigid is taking proactive steps to enhance her professional qualifications by pursuing certification as an addiction counselor through the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals. This commitment to ongoing education directly reflects her dedication to providing the highest standard of care to her clients. In addition to her formal education, Brigid has engaged in specialized training in emotionally-focused therapy and trauma-informed care. These advanced skills enable her to offer a nuanced and empathetic approach to therapy, ensuring that she can effectively support her clients through their healing journeys.

In her practice, Brigid places immense value on the unique narratives that each individual brings to the therapeutic setting. She believes that every person’s story is significant and deserves to be heard. With a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor, she provides guidance to those grappling with a wide array of issues, including trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, abuse, spiritual dilemmas, and other complex challenges. Her experience spans working with both adolescents and adults, allowing her to create a safe and supportive counseling environment that fosters healing and personal growth.

Brigid’s approach to therapy is deeply influenced by her faith, which she integrates into her practice. She utilizes biblical principles to navigate the counseling process, meeting clients where they are in their spiritual journeys. This Christ-centered approach resonates with those who seek spiritual guidance alongside their therapeutic needs. At the same time, Brigid employs evidence-based practices best suited for the specific needs of her clients, ensuring that her methods are both effective and relevant.

Brigid is affiliated with C.O.R.E., a division of Centennial Park Counseling that specializes in addiction and trauma recovery services. In this capacity, she is equipped to conduct Substance Use Evaluations and Alcohol Assessments, which are essential for individuals facing court requirements stemming from Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) charges and other substance-related issues.
