I feel honored to be trusted with someone’s life story and many times, meeting them in their most vulnerable moments. Everyone has the chance to write and rewrite their story and I am grateful to walk alongside others to “…seek peace and pursue it” (1 Peter 3:11b). I have a passion for working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing difficult situations and mental health challenges including anxiety disorders, depression, fears, anger, behavioral concerns, autism, ADHD, and trauma to name a few. I believe everyone deserves a chance to thrive and work toward new goals and passions no matter their circumstances. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where clients can explore their emotions, build resilience, and gain confidence in their ability to create meaningful change in their lives. I want to empower others and remind them of the quote, “Go forth, but don’t go alone.”
As a veteran’s wife, I also have a deep appreciation for the unique challenges faced by military members, spouses, and their families. I enjoy supporting service members and veterans as they navigate transitions, stress, and the lasting impact of military life.
Jennifer works with individuals ages 4 and up, providing a warm and supportive environment where clients can express themselves freely. Whether working with a young child navigating big emotions, a teen struggling with anxiety, or an adult facing life’s difficult transitions, Jennifer meets each person where they are with empathy and practical guidance. She believes in supporting her clients by encouraging self-awareness, emotional regulation, and building healthy coping skills. Jennifer utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support her clients including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, family therapies, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and play therapy. She incorporates developmentally appropriate techniques when working with children and modifies her interventions to meet the specific needs of each individual.
Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University and a Master of Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. Jennifer has diverse experience in the field including work in residential facilities, providing services as a sexual abuse response team advocate, providing case management for clients struggling with severe and persistent mental illness, providing outreach services for those struggling with housing insecurities, homelessness, and incarceration, and providing case management for children in foster care.
