CORE

As the director of CORE, a division of Centennial Park Counseling, it is my pleasure to introduce the treatment philosophy and some vision for CORE.

What is CORE?

CORE stands for the Center of Recovery Expertise. Our clinical team has invested much time, energy, and resources to be able to provide current and best practice therapy interventions by becoming certified for treating behavioral and/or chemical addictions. We believe that quality comes from specialization. When someone comes to see a certified therapist here at CORE you can be confident that each therapist has undergone hours of training to be either a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) or a Certified Advance Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or both.

Treatment Philosophy

Here at CORE, we understand that chemical and behavioral addictions are highly likely to be a symptom or outcome of other life problems.  These may stem from one’s family of origin or an event or series of events that compromised growth and brought about the actions that have led to an addiction. We also believe the disease model of addictions is an accurate way to frame addictions for some people.

In regard to chemical addiction we offer assessments for drunk driving for the court system. We also do drivers evaluation for those who need to get their drivers licenses reinstated. These services are offered along with individual sessions for those diagnosed with a substance use disorder.

Vision

It is our vision here at CORE to bring as many CSAT credentialed therapists as possible into our organization as we believe that sex addiction is best treated with a team of clinicians who can work together to provide the best outcomes for clients.

We currently offer:

  • betrayed partners group
  • two men’s sexual addiction groups
  • individual and couples work for addicts and partners
  • facilitated full disclosure sessions

We hope to be offering more treatment options in the near future.
