Group Therapy

Support Groups for Addiction & Trauma Recovery Care

Are you seeking a secure environment to express your thoughts and gain support from others? Regardless of your challenges, group counseling may serve as an invaluable method for obtaining psychological assistance while simultaneously fostering a network of healthy relationships. Please see below for current group offerings.

Men’s Compulsive Sexual Behaviors Group Therapy

Group Therapy 3

If you find yourself seeking assistance with various sexual behaviors—whether it involves pornography, online chat rooms, massage parlors, sexual fantasies, fetishes, affairs, or any actions associated with what is often termed sexual “addiction,” including love and relationship addiction—we are here to help. We offer two distinct group therapy options designed to foster a supportive and healing community for individuals navigating these challenges.

Our Thursday evening group therapy session convenes at 6:30 PM and runs for two hours, providing a structured yet flexible environment for participants. Alternatively, our Friday morning group meets at 6:00 AM for the same duration, allowing you to choose a time that best fits your schedule. Both groups emphasize key elements such as accountability, support, education, and professionally guided therapy, ensuring that you receive comprehensive care tailored to your needs.

In our group setting, you will discover a welcoming atmosphere where you can feel understood, cared for, and accepted. You will be surrounded by others who share similar experiences, creating a sense of camaraderie and mutual support. We adopt a holistic approach to explore the life and relationship issues that may have contributed to your sexual behaviors. This involves delving deep to uncover the root causes of compulsive actions, enabling you to gain insight and foster personal growth.

We welcome drop-in attendance for both groups, meaning you do not need to register in advance. Simply enter through the EAST door of our building, where a friendly staff member will be ready to greet you and assist you in getting started on your journey. While our program is not a twelve-step initiative, we acknowledge the significance of the twelve steps and weave them into our discussions as appropriate. It is important to note that while not all participants may identify as religious or Christian, our meetings are grounded in Christian principles, and we do engage with spiritual topics as part of our exploration.  The fee for each group session is $25, which can be conveniently paid by cash or credit card. We believe in the potential for change and are genuinely excited to support you as you embark on your journey toward a fulfilling and intentional life—one that is free from feelings of entrapment and the burdens of compulsive behaviors.

Beyond Trauma: A Healing Journey for Women

Group Therapy

At Centennial Park Counseling, we believe in the transformative power of community and the healing that comes from shared experiences. Women are warmly invited to join our group, Beyond Trauma: A Healing Journey for Women. This program emphasizes a supportive and compassionate environment designed to nurture the healing process. The importance of connection, understanding, and mutual support are emphasized as essential components of recovery.

Beyond Trauma consists of a 12-session therapy group that intertwines the latest insights from neuroscience with contemporary understandings of trauma and PTSD. Our evidence-based materials focus not only on trauma treatment but also on its possible effects, including depression, anxiety, and the complex relationship between trauma and addiction, whether your own or that of a loved one. Grounded in the principals of relational therapy, this therapy program recognizes that fulfilling relationships are vital for emotional well-being.

Come and participate in a group where you will be met with compassion, be understood by others, and connect with those who share struggles similar to your own. Participation in the group is entirely voluntary. While sharing your experiences can be a powerful part of the healing journey, your comfort level will be respected and you will be able to engage at your own pace. Our primary aim is to create a safe and nurturing space for healing and growth. Beyond Trauma is aligned with Christian values, with the ultimate goal of healing from past trauma and navigating the path to wholeness.

If you’re ready to take the next step towards healing or would like more information, please call Brigid Havens at (616) 949-9550, extension 144, or email bhavens@cpcounsel.net. Healing is possible. Let us come alongside you in your journey to health and wholeness.
