Dayspring Counseling was founded in 1984 by Dr. Robert Miner and Mr. Ken Adams and served the Greater Grand Rapids area and surrounding West Michigan communities for years. A committed group of mental health professionals, unified in the foundation of a God-centered world view, offered counseling services to people of all ages looking for hope for restoration of right relationships with others, themselves and with God.
For over 20 years, Dayspring Counseling professionals joined people in their healing journeys. Relationships were established with a wide range of referral sources, including medical practices, schools and church communities. The commitment to “renewing faith, hope and love” remained consistent up until the beginning of 2009. With the departure of Art Daglow, Director of Dayspring Counseling, in the fall of 2008, the remaining professionals made an important change in the location and structure of the practice that Dayspring had been for many years. Those professionals joined Dr. Jan Bentley, who established Centennial Park Counseling in February of 2005, with the mission of providing distinctly Christian Counseling services that would meet the needs of individuals in the community.
Joining together the services of Dayspring Counseling and Centennial Park Counseling in February of 2009, a new entity was formed – Centennial Park Counseling, PLC. The tradition of professionalism, integrity and compassion that was part of both organizations continues to be a commitment of the ten therapists and one full time office manager at CPC.
