Ken is a Licensed Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist with over twenty-five years of counseling experience. Ken is proficient with issues ranging from adolescence to the challenges of senior citizens. He works well with individuals, couples and families.

Ken counsels from a Christian world view and provides an accepting, safe and confidential environment. He is a good listener, empathic kind and trustworthy. An individual’s relationship to self, other and God are areas that are evaluated. Ken especially helps a client’s awareness of negative thinking patterns and works with the client in restoring them to positive thinking.

Ken and his wife Sue have been happily married for 30 years and have three adult children. Ken enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.

Dr. Herrema, a fully licensed psychologist, comes to CPC with a broad range of experience. While specializing in the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents, he also has years of training and experience working with adults, couples and families. Previously with Bethany Christian Services, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services and Minirth Meier New Life Clinics, Dr. Herrema’s experience has ranged from inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization programs, outpatient clinics and now work within a public school system. Like his colleagues at CPC, Dr. Herrema’s overall practice and work with individuals is shaped and influenced by his God-centered world view.

Dr. Forrest has counseling experience with individuals, couples, groups and families, and employs creative Christian approaches to addressing individual, family and organizational dysfunction and distress. Also an experienced educator and artist, he delights in helping creative individuals understand, cultivate and enjoy the unique gifts and sensitivities that often distinguish those who don’t “fit in” or who seem to march to the beat of the proverbial “different drummer.”

Kathy Weller, MA, LPC

Kathy Weller, MA, LPC

Kathy is a Licensed Clinical Counselor with an emphasis in Couple and Family therapy. Her specialties encompass working with women’s issues relating to depression, abuse, multiple personalities, self-esteem, grief, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and family issues. Trained in couple and family counseling, she has worked with many couples and families with reference to restoring relationships, parenting issues, blended families, separation and divorce.

As a certified teacher, Kathy has a great deal of experience counseling with children and teenagers concerning grades, social phobia, interpersonal relationships, behavioral problems, depression and eating disorders. Kathy has worked with children as young as three years old through play therapy. She works to create a compassionate, supportive environment with God as the center. Hannah is an experienced Christian therapist with credentials including Licensed Masters Social Worker and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. She strives to provide clients with an empathic, nurturing environment where changes are made and goals are reached. Hannah’s range of specialties include treating eating disorders, depression, anxiety, grief & loss, trauma recovery, gambling addiction, marital/couples issues, and family issues. She enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults in individual, couple, family and group therapy. Hannah recently relocated to Grand Rapids and is excited to join Centennial Park Counseling.
